Mhmm, coffee. What a beautiful thing.
I used to be a barista at the chain Summer Moon located here in Austin. Making -real- coffee, is such an enjoyable experience. I was talking with a friend the other day about how coffee is so different here in he states compared to Europe. We spoke about how coffee here is saturated in sugar to the point it becomes more of a dessert.
There's nothing wrong with turning coffee into a delicious treat for yourself, so don't get me wrong. It is just evident that here in the states, coffee is not consumed in a way where the coffee itself is being enjoyed, rather. the added sugar and caffeine.
I loveee the taste of coffee, and I understand not everyone enjoys it as much as me. It's just one of the many things the states have taken, and turned it into something it's not.
What else has the states melted into 'our' pot to be turned into something else...
