What would the world be like if people were more thankful for what they do have, rather than complaining about the things they don't? Many people are unaware of just how ungrateful they really are. We become accustomed to the ways we live, and in return may become blind to the many blessings and luxuries that are all around us. Most people get out their bed and forget to be thankful they have a bed to lay in, or just simply the ability to physically get out of bed.
About a year ago I started journaling the things I am greatful for. These lists consist of anything. From the ten fingers on my hands, to people in my life who've betrayed me. When you start being more thankful for what you have, and even the things you don't, you begin to see the world differently. As the saying goes when you "change your thoughts, you change your world." At times when I am frustrated, annoyed, or just dissapointed in the world, I write down one thing I don't like or hate, then I counter it by adding two things I like or love. This helps me transform my negative ways of thinking, which is a constant battle many of us struggle with.
